About this PROJECT.

Lorclon is very proud of the role we continue to play in the redevelopment of London Bridge station. London Bridge is one of the busiest stations in the country with about 54m passengers through per year. It is envisaged that this will increase to 75m by the end of the decade. To cater for this, a massive redevelopment of the station has been going on since 2013 and the works on the platforms have been central to this. In order to enable swifter passage of trains and passengers through the station, track and platforms have been reconfigured so that the former nine terminating platforms and six “through” platforms have been replaced with six terminating platforms and nine “through” platforms.
This all has to be done against the backdrop of a live railway station operating at full capacity. The work thus has to be sequenced carefully and so we are given access to a platform for a very limited period of time and need to pave it. The work is very stop/start as platforms become available and is finished. The quality of the platform finishes have been one of the key factors in us being recently awarded the “urban realm” contract for the hard landscaping and street works around the station.
